I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
You Gave
By: Ron Edmondson Thursday, February 15, 2001
In their hunger You gave them bread from Heaven and in their thirst You brought them water from the rock; You told them to go in and take possession of the land You had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.

Nehemiah 9:15 NIV

God has impressed upon me today to be thankful. Now, please don't misunderstand. This has actually been a very difficult last few days for me, but at the same time, I am caught up in the concept of knowing the Maker of mankind personally. Can you join me in my enthusiasm?

Nehemiah, as he reflected on who God is and what He had done, recalled the times God fed his people. He remembered hearing of their thirst, and how God brought water from the rock. He marvelled at God's provision for the Israelites over the years. Nehemiah knew he could trust God in his day, because of the history of God. He was thankful for knowing and being related to his God.

Perhaps right now life doesn't look to good for you, at least from a worldly perspective. You aren't in the "in crowd". You don't have the huge stock portfolio you have heard that others have. Your health is not what it used to be. Your marriage is struggling. Your kids are causing you to worry. (I sure hope all this isn't happening at once!) It may appear that you do not have much for which to be thankful!

Then you remember the God of All Times! Then you recall the goodness of the Lord. May I ask you: Has He been there for you before? Have you heard about His miracles in the past? Are you still breathing? Have you had something to eat in the last twenty four hours? Do you have a place to live?

The God of Wonder, who can bring bread from the sky and water from a rock, wants to bless you too today. He wants to bring a smile to your face and see you thankful! God loves you and He is planning great victories for your life. Trust Him today to see you through!

Ask God to bless you at this moment in your life; then trust Him to answer your prayers.
