I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman

Jacob said, "Please tell me your name." But he replied, "Why do you ask my name?" Then He blessed him there. So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, "It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared." Genesis 32:29-30 NIV

I like this verse. God asks Jacob his name, and then God changes Jacob's name to Israel. Then, Jacob asks God His name. God replies much as He does to Moses when he said, "Who shall I say sent me?" and God replied, "Tell them, I AM, sent you." God says to Jacob, "Why do you ask?". God might have said to Jacob, "Did you even need to ask?".

When God does something really special in our life, why do we often wonder if it were from God? Don't we often feel so unworthy of the blessings of God? We are sometimes amazed that God would bless us in such a way. Could God really love someone like me?

Evidently Jacob didn't need to ask. God never really answered his question, and yet God blessed him there and Jacob made that place a permanent altar to the Lord. He recognized that his appointment with the God of Creation had totally transformed his life. He was forever changed; set apart for God's honor and glory.

Are you expecting God to work in your life? Are you asking Him to meet you at your point of need, and then trusting Him to work all things for good in your life? Are you recognizing the hand of God upon your life, at work molding and making you into who He wants you to be?

The God of Wonder wants to make a difference in your life today! He will wrestle you if He has to, but He would prefer you willingly come to Him, submitting to Him all your life.
