The islands have seen it and fear; the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward; each helps the other and says to his brother, "Be strong!" Isaiah 41:5-6 NIV
A free word of advice: The best thing to do is to get on board!
Today's verse is referring to the wrath and power of God. God controls the nations, He crushes them with the spoken word. He builds up kingdoms at His simple command. He speaks and the winds overtake a city. He delivers a statement and the mountains fall into the sea.
By the word of God all was created and all is sustained. God is all powerful, all knowing, and ever present! He is Jehovah! He is the Great I AM! There is none like Him!
This verse says that when one enters the presence of a Holy God, there is no reaction but fear! The sinner in the hands of a righteous God, who hates sin, is a horrifying experience!
Praise God we have a savior! Through the blood of Jesus, we are made right with God. By His perfect and acceptable sacrifice on the cross, we can now enter into the presence of God. His wrath against sin is turned to a rewarding of the saints. Instead of eternal damnation, we receive eternal rewards. In the place of defeat, we get victory. Replacing our robe of sin, we get a crown of glory!
God is worthy to be feared, but by our salvation we can come to Him with boldness. If you don't know Jesus personally, I encourage you today to "get on board". Accept Jesus as the only way you will ever enter Heaven.
And Thank Him today for the priviledge of His presence!
