I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman

The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you. 2 Timothy 4:22 NIV

Paul is not trying to be confusing. If you are a Christian, Jesus does live in you through the Holy Spirit. The Lord is with you. God’s grace has been extended to you. The question is: are you with God?

God wants to bless you beyond what you can imagine. He wants to extend His favor and grace to you in abundance. He has done everything necessary to make that happen, except force you to accept it.

Sin still breaks fellowship with God, even in the life of a Christian. God is holy and He cannot exist where there is sin. When you accepted Christ, He came to reside in you. He wants to take up residence in your whole being. You continue, however, to battle sin. Satan does everything he can to work his way in your life. Satan knows your weakness and he is trying to build a wedge between you and God. In order to have God flood you entirely, therefore, you must rid yourself of sin. This is not a one time occurrence. The penalty of sin is removed at salvation, but the presence of sin must be removed day by day.

As Christ becomes the central focus of your life, and your will becomes His will, then God’s Spirit is fully resident in you, and you experience God’s grace to the fullest extent possible. That may sound like a bunch of theology, but it really is God’s plan for our lives as believers. Paul prayed that the Lord would be with your spirit and that God’s grace would be with you. I pray for you likewise!
