I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Whatever you do...
By: Ron Edmondson Wednesday, March 10, 1999
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men Colossians 3:23 NIV

Tonight, after church, we start on my son's soap-box derby car. I'm certainly not gifted with a jig saw or sander, and I'd much rather be reading a good book, but the race is next week so we better get started!

Oh, we could have been working on it sooner, but first we had science projects, then the speech contest, a weekly basketball game (times 2) and the just-as-frequent practice. To be honest, this is the first opportunity we have had.

I don't know about you, but some of these activities can get to be a drag. Don't get me wrong, I love the time with my kids, but project after project, when I really don't feel adequate to help sometimes, just seems to add to an already stressful life.

Kind of reminds me of work!

Then I remember, I'm doing this for Him! I'm raising these two boys, not for me, but for God's glory. I'm teaching them to be like Jesus, so they can be used in His service. The time I invest in them, will return dividends that last for generations. I'm building my own legacy through them! (And I do want to protect my name!)

What is it you have to do today? Is it something you'd rather get out of.....if you could? Maybe you can find a way to give God the glory! Hard work; diligence; patience; persistence....done in His name.....will reap a Heavenly reward, as well as a peaceful satisfaction!

Do something in Jesus name today! It makes it all worthwhile!

Now excuse me, I get to go be Daddy!
