The words we all long to hear! Amen?
I don't know about you, but I want to hear my Father's approval. Sometimes I just can't wait to know that He is pleased with my life and progress. I want to know that He calls me faithful!
I look into the eyes of my children, and they want the same from me. I went to lunch with our 10 year old the other day, and the first thing he said to me was about how well he had done on a test that morning. He wanted my approval. (He got it!)
When our 7 year old made a last second basketball shot, tying up the game, I sat there, along with everyone else, in complete anticipation, waiting for the ball to go through the net. When it did, I was the first one on my feet cheering. The first place he looked was to see if I was indeed cheering. He wanted my approval. (And, he got it!)
I want my Father's approval as well! Guess what? It isn't that difficult! God rewards simple obedience, childlike faith, and committed love. God is looking for that humble servant, willing to openly and honestly approach His throne of grace, where upon we will find mercy and strength in our time of need.
God is seeking those who will call Him Lord! He wants to reward us as good and faithful servants.
I can't wait until that day!
