I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest. Psalm 126:5-6
Sometimes the best joys in life come after much tears have been shed. Are you familiar with that principle? It seems that in my experience, the days of my greatest delight have been enjoyed after I have labored over an issue in prayer, sometimes for months or even years at a time.
I remember a season of suffering with two very dear Christian friends of mine in their desire to have a child. They had tried on their own for several years and became completely at peace with the fact that they would have to adopt. Through a long series of events a child became available, and, over the course of months, they prepared to bring the baby home from the hospital. They consistently met with the mother, feeling very comfortable in their decision. They could clearly feel God's involvement in this process.
The night the baby was born, much to their misunderstanding, the mother decided she may want to keep the baby. In the 48 hours she was in the hospital, she changed her mind three times about keeping or giving up the baby, only to decide in the end that she would indeed NOT allow my friends to adopt the baby. In addition to the mother not being able to properly care for the baby, my friends were now devestated at what felt at the time like the death of a child. At that time, they could not understand where God was leading them.
As today's scripture says, my friends were planting in tears during this stage of their Christian walk. Do you want to hear some good news? During that same period of time, during the time of tears, my friends were, while unknown to them, carrying their own child. The wife had become pregnant, even though the doctors had given up hope. Today they are very proud parents of a precious, intelligent, talented and beautiful little girl. They are now harvesting with joy!
God is faithful. If you are now in the time of planting, and there are tears in your eyes, the joy will one day come and you will once again sing of His glory in your time of harvest!
