For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything. James 1:3-4 NLT
Right now you and I don’t fit into Heaven. Heaven is a perfect place for perfect people. In our spirit we are perfect in Christ, but in our flesh we are still struggling. (If you no longer struggle with sin, then you have no need to read this devotional any further.) Our sin cannot enter into the holiness of heaven.
God is fitting you and me, the children of God, for Heaven. One of His chief methods is to deliver us through trials.
If you are in a trial right now your chief goal shouldn’t be to get out of the trial. I don’t blame you for wanting out, and I think you should ask God to take away the trial, but your chief goal should be to learn something through the trial. You should ask God to allow this trial to better fit your for Heaven and His glory. You should desire that this trial make you stronger for the next trial. You should hope to be a better Christian once the trial is over.
So, how are you doing responding to the trials of life? How fit are you becoming for Heaven? How much glory is your life displaying, because of your faith in Christ through the trials of life? As God shapes you for Heaven, hold tightly on to God through the trials He allows to come your way. He’s using them for a greater glory!
