I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Trials, Part 6

But the Pharisees and experts in religious law had rejected God's plan for them... Luke 7:30 NLT

When Jesus walked on earth during His public ministry the ones who should have easily welcomed Him, those who should have known Him best, rejected Him and His plan. The same is true of followers of Christ many times today.

Have you ever considered or prayed something like this? “God, I want to grow my faith!” Or, “God, please help me learn to trust you more!” Or, maybe your prayer was something like “God, I want to be more holy. I want to sin less.” Have you ever desired to live a more Godly life?

If you are a Christian then God has planted in you a desire for more of Christ. The Holy Spirit will lead you into a deeper walk with Christ. Your role (and mine) is to submit to God’s direction through the Holy Spirit. We are to follow the Spirit’s leading in our life.

God’s plan for you will most often include some trials. One of the greatest teaching tools God has is a healthy, ground-shaking trial. God uses trials to shape us into the people He wants us to be. Yet, we would often prefer to “reject God’s plan” for us. Life often would actually seem easier if we rejected the plan of God.

If you want to have more faith, God has a trial that will help develop your faith. If you want to be more of a person of prayer, God has a trial for that too. Whatever character trait needs to be developed, God has a trial that will help mold that trait. That is truly the way God works.

Do you want to follow God’s plan for your life? If so, be looking for a few trials.
