I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matthew 6:9

Our Father, that personal, loving, wonderful God, is right now, we He has always been, in Heaven, His dwelling place. Today I want to consider the phrase “which art in”.

The word “which” is a transitional linking word. It connects “Our Father” to the place where our Father is. Where is our Father? Our Father “art in” Heaven. The word “art” is added to the original text so that we who speak English can understand what is being said. It’s a word that points to the next word “in”, which is the word I really want us to focus on attention on today.

“In” is a “primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state)”, according to Strong’s Bible Dictionary. God, the One who created the heavens and the earth and calls each star by name is not a temporary God. We are not waiting to see if this God will stand the test of time. We aren’t trying to determine if this God is trustworthy. Granted, you may trying to decide that for yourself, but we need to understand that this is our decision, but our lack of faith has nothing to do with the permanence or dependability of God. God is “in” a “fixed” position. He is in a permanent position.

God the Father is at home in Heaven. He has never left His throne. Now, He sent His only Son to be born of a virgin and walk beside sinful man so that He could serve as our Redeemer, the Way for us to get to God, but God, the Father, has always resided in Heaven. He’s stood the test of time, because He isn’t from time, He’s from eternity.

There has never been a time when God wasn’t God, and there will never be a time when God ceases to be God. Make no mistake about it; God is God. You can trust God the Father today because He is always going to be God.

Are you trusting in the One who is permanently fixed as God? If your trust is anywhere else you have placed your faith in the temporal. Renew your faith in the permanence of God.

Mustard Seed Ministry is reaching around the world with Biblical truths. The ministry is designed to spur the Christian from the smallest amount of faith, onto spiritual growth and maturity. This ministry goes places the church cannot enter. If you would like to support the work of this ministry, send contributions to Mustard Seed Ministry, PO Box 3698, Clarksville, TN 37043, or through Pay Pal (www.paypal.com) to ron.mustardseed@Christweb.com email address.
Tell your friends about this ministry. Why not forward a copy of the email to those you think might benefit from reading a Mustard Seed? Some churches use it as a supplement to their discipleship program. Perhaps your church would be interested in doing this. All I ask is that credit be given to the ministry. If you need help or have questions, please email me at ron.mustardseed@Christweb.com
