I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
The Light
By: Ron Edmondson Tuesday, January 15, 2002
"No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16 NIV

I thought about this verse. I thought about it as I replaced the 100 watt bulb in the lamp in my bedroom. If I put that lamp under the bed, my room would still not be completely dark. If, however, I had lived in the days Jesus walked the earth, before electricity or the light bulb, and I had to rely solely on candlelight or an oil base lamp, then this verse takes on a whole new meaning. If you are a Christian, then you have a light in your heart; the light of Jesus. You cannot hide it!

As a Sunday School teacher, my greatest joy is in watching people get turned on to spiritual growth. I love to hear they are studying the Bible or that they are participating in ministry in some way. I also love to hear from Mustard Seed readers. It makes it all worthwhile. But, I don’t usually have to be told. When someone is in love with Jesus, it shows!

Jesus was trying to tell the disciples, who were learning how to be Christians, that what they were learning would be seen by others. They couldn’t hide it!

As a Christian, a born again believer in Christ, the more you grow up in Him, the greater your visibility will be. People will see your good works and they will glorify your Heavenly Father. And, believe me, people are looking.

Can I ask you a question? How strong is your light?
