I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:3-4 NIV
Today we get to the final part of our two verse series. Today we see that God gives us the desires of our heart. I really believe this verse is a promise. As we trust in the Lord, do good, dwell in the land, and delight ourselves in Jesus, I believe God will give us the desires of our heart. Quite simply put, this will happen because our desires will become His desires.
If my boys come to me and want to go eat it is rarely to the same place. If one wants Mexican, the other wants hamburgers. I often tell my wife that we shouldn’t give them a choice because they never agree. If ever they do come in with the same answer, then Cheryl and I have to agree. What do you think happens if the place the boys pick is the same place Cheryl and I have decided chosen? That’s right, we go! If their desires line up with our desires, there is nothing to discuss!
When you and I begin to take on the desires of Christ, we will begin to see our desires being met. Jesus’ prayers are always answered in the affirmative. As we learn to trust Him more and we practice obedience, we will feel more at home in His presence and will experience the blessings of that close relationship. God will bless us as He blesses His Son.
Are you finding very few of your desires being met? Maybe your desires need more alignment with the desires of Christ. You might start by surrendering your life to Him, placing all your trust in Christ. Then, you may want to practice the disciplines of Godliness. Finally, as you learn to obey Christ, you will find yourself more and more comfortable in His presece, dwelling in the safety of a relationship with Him. As your heart lines up with His heart, your desires will become a part of His master plan.
Lord, help me to trust You. Help me to do good (well). Help me to dwell with You in safety. And, Lord, as a result of who I am in You, grant me the desires of my heart!

Some churches use it as a supplement to their discipleship program. Perhaps your church would be interested in doing this. All I ask is that credit be given to the ministry.
