I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
The Court
By: Ron Edmondson Friday, April 23, 1999
The Job spoke again: "Yes, I know this is all true in principle. But how can a person be declared innocent in the eyes of God? If someone wanted to take God to court, would it be possible to answer Him even once in a thousand times?" Job 9:1-3 NLT

Think on that thought for a moment. I can almost see the headlines.

NOTHINGNESS SUES HEAVEN or maybe GOD ON TRIAL.

Can you imagine you or I, or anyone else for that matter, trying to fool the defense in a trial against God. What would you use as evidence? How would you get any witnesses? Who could speak on your behalf? And, when it was time to question the other side, how would you approach a Holy God?

Picture God's defense (as if He needed one). What would be His evidence? All of creation maybe. Maybe He would spin a few stars on His fingertips; stop the sun from shining for a few moments; entertain with His orchestra of wind and thunder? Would He share what things were like before there was time? Might He describe how our bodies are formed in our mother's womb or how an eagle learns to fly?

Do you think God would give His closing summary with a presentation of all the miracles of the Bible? Would He choose to share what He was feeling when He allowed His Son to die on a cross? Would He explain to the jury the meanings of life as He intended them to be?

Oh, and can you imagine the jury deliberations? Can you say "quick decision"?

The verdict is in: God wins!
