I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

And being in anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat waslikedrops of blood falling to the ground. Luke22:44NIV
This was the night Jesus would be arrested. After that, accordingtoGod's plan, Jesus would willingly suffer at the hands of theRomansoldiers, and be nailed to a cross. Imagine knowing that spikeswill behammered into your hands and feet in just a few hours; and thatyou wouldsufficate to death, because you couldn't breath while hanging onacross.
Jesus, passionately calls on His Father. The angels come tostrengthenHim. As He suffers in prayer, drops of blood begin to pour outof Hissweat glands. Luke, being the physician among the disciples, knewthemedical process Jesus was going through.
Medically known as haematidrois, it occurs when fear and stress begintotake over the body; when an agony or suffering is laid upon analreadysuffering or stressed out person, and they can no longer stand thepain. The person normally passes out, but if not, the subcutaneouscapillariessometimes dilate so wide, that when they reach the sweatglands thelittle capillaries burst. The blood is then dispersed withtheperspiration, and, usually, this covers the entirebody.
The intensity of the moment for Jesus was almost more than Hecouldbear!
I know this is not a pleasant thought, but it should remind ustodaythat Jesus was fully man; fully God, but also fully man! Jesus gaveupHis royalty; humbling Himself to humanity; so that through Hissuffering;we might receive eternal life. Let's don't forget this Easterthat JesusChrist gave up a lot; and endured a lot, so that you and I,sinners;could enter into the presence of aHolyGod!
That's why we celebrate this season; to remember the cost...andthecross!
