I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV
I am finishing a year's term as Secretary to the Deacon Body of my church. Most of the members of my church don't even know that, because it is not a high profile position. My role was to keep the minutes of Deacon meetings and to solicit Deacons to write a column in the church newsletter. Sounds fairly exciting, huh? Recently I became frustrated with the monotony of the task. We seem to have relied a lot on the minutes this year as a Body, and yet the job is so tedious and I am not very gifted with secretarial skills.
I had so much to do that week, and yet several people were calling for the Deacon minutes to be typed. I was tempted to get irritated, until I remembered a verse of Scripture: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31). I realized, that if I looked at this position as something I was doing for God, rather than for man, it became something rather important. I am a “Secretary for Jesus”! Now...that sounds important, doesn’t it?
What are you doing in your Christian life? You are doing something, aren’t you? Are you making plans to serve Christ in the New Year? Whether you are teaching preschoolers, visiting the sick, or just calling to check on an absentee, don’t look at it as being unimportant to the Kingdom of God. Look at it as working for Jesus! You are employed by royalty! You are a servant of Heaven! You are a part of the Master’s plan!
Take it from this Secretary to Jesus, whatever you do unto the Lord is important, and it brings great eternal rewards! Praise God that He still uses people like you and me!
