I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:14 NKJV
Finally, by God's grace, we look today at the last phrase in this verse. When we "put on the Lord Jesus Christ", and we "make no provision for the flesh", we will not "fulfill its lusts." Who's lust? The lust of the flesh.
Lust, as it's used here, is basically wanting something you shouldn't have; something which keeps you from the perfect will of God. We all have certain needs for unconditional love, acceptance, appreciation, respect and self-worth. When we attempt to get them outside of Christ, we are operating from our flesh. The desire to get these needs met outside of Christ is called lust.
One of the best ways to get rid of sin and stagnation in your Christian walk is to recognize the power of lust. We need to recognize that lust will lead us astray and take us from God's perfect plan.
When we are tempting to operate in our own strength to meet our needs, we need to turn our needs to Christ. When we trust completely in Him, He will meet our needs, all of them, according to His richness in glory.
That sounds like a lot of deep theology to me, and I'm sorry for that, but the bottom line is this. If you are attempting to find satisfaction in this world in any place except the Lord Jesus Christ, you are settling for far less than the best God has to offer.
When we became a Christian, the blessing was and is Jesus. We need to daily "put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh", never attempting to "fulfill its lusts."
Dear God, shine the light of your Truth for us in this verse and let it change the way we live in YOU!
