I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Restoration
By: Ron Edmondson Thursday, January 20, 2000
"In that day I will restore David's fallen tent. I will repair its broken places, restore its ruins, and build it as it used to be;" Amos 9:11 NIV

God always keeps His promises. Pause right now to thank Him for that.

God promised that the line of David would be great. Therefore, when Jesus came, some called Him the Son of David. You and I, the adopted sons of God, are included in that Davidical line. We inherit the promise of victory given to the house of David.

But, folks, let's face some facts. Things don't always appear victorious, do they? Sometimes it seems like the other side is winning. Often we feel the world has chosen to make this "pick on us day" (or week, or month, or even year). I'd love to tell you that life is always fun-filled and fancy free for the Christian. Of course, if I did, many of you would know for sure I was breaking the ninth commandment (look it up if you don't have them memorized).

No, life sometimes has a way of giving us much grief. Many times I feel like the Psalmist who said "troubles without number surround me". There are just so many obstacles in the attempt to walk by faith.

So, what's the good news for the day?

The final story has been written! Yes, God has worked out a solution in the end. And, guess what......our side wins! God has been preparing our joyous return home since the beginning of time. The angels are rehearsing their hymns for the homecoming. The streets are being paved with gold; and our hearts are being molded into the image of the Son.

One day, the broken walls of our lives will be restored. God, Himself, will rebuild what the pain of life has destroyed. With a tender touch; the same hand which formed the mountains and plowed out the depths of the sea, will gently wash away the bitterness of life, and grant us His final grace which will keep us in His permanent, precious care throughout eternity.

Now aren't you glad God keeps His promises? Why not thank Him again?
