I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Relationship
By: Ron Edmondson Monday, February 23, 2004
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, "Abba, Father." Romans 8:15 NIV

My son recently had a spiritual discussion with a girl at school. The girl didn’t agree with some of the beliefs we have about God and His Word. That’s okay, but there was one thing she said that caused my son to respond in a way that made me quite proud. She said, “We may not agree, but I want you to know that I am just as religious as you are, so there really is no difference in us.” My son said, “Right there, though, is our difference. I’m not in a religion. I’m in a relationship!”

Let me be clear in the fact that this girl may simply have had a different terminology. I’m not at all judging her relationship with Christ, but it does cause me to point out an important fact about Christianity. Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship. There is no “religion” which allows the close communion between god and man that Christianity offers with God in a relationship through Jesus Christ.

If you’ve been practicing religion, maybe you should try a relationship. Call upon Jesus Christ and you become a child of God. The Creator becomes your Daddy! You can call out to Him in full assurance that He hears you, because you will be a member of the family.

When I was in business I would sometimes have meetings where I could not be disturbed. The receptionist always knew, however, that there were a few people who could always get through to me...my family! You and I can always get through to God. He’s never too busy to talk. We’ll never get a busy signal and there is no call-waiting or voice mail in Heaven.

It’s all a part of the relationship!

Tell your friends about this ministry. Why not forward a copy of the email to those you think might benefit from reading a Mustard Seed? Some churches use it as a supplement to their discipleship program. Perhaps your church would be interested in doing this. All I ask is that credit be given to the ministry.
