I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 NIV
There are two Biblical reasons to cast your cares upon the Lord. We will look at the first today.
Did you know that God cares for you? Do you feel that care today?
This writer knows first hand the pain of life. I know the feeling of rejected love. I know how it feels to receive the overdraft statement from the bank and know the bills haven't been paid. I know the term "cut-off date" used by the utility companies. I know physical pain, having suffered from back pain most of my life. I have watched loved ones suffer and die; loved ones who have lived a life of devotion and service to others. I have known children who grow up without a father, and I have counseled dozens who experience the trauma of divorce and separation. (Not all of these have occurred on the same day. Praise God.)
During these times of life it is easy to feel that no one cares. Last night, as I was tucking my nine year old into bed, attempting to be funny, he asked me a question. He said, "Daddy, does God know how to subtract?" I said, "I would say He does, son. Why do you ask?" "Because He must if He is going to keep up with the number of hairs on your head." (I hope you get that!) It is interesting having a child with such a sense of humor.
My boy's humor reminded me that God has indeed counted every hair on my head. When days of trouble come my way, God has already pre-ordained the steps for me to take. He has planned it all for an ultimate victory, if I will only trust in Him. He counts the hairs on my head, not because He is bored, but because He cares for me enough to want to study every aspect of my life. My wife loves me, but I don't see her investing the time to count (or subtract) the hairs on my head!
The fact that God cares for you, means that He wants you...did you get that...HE WANTS you to bring Him your problems. Tomorrow we will see antoher promise associated with casting your cares upon the Lord. In the meantime, why not start casting today!
