I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Psalm 42:8
By: Ron Edmondson Wednesday, January 14, 2004
By day the LORD directs His love, at night His song is with me--a prayer to the God of my life. Psalms 42:8 NIV

The Psalmist has a secret. It’s not as earth shattering as you and I might think it is. The secret is not found in a self-help book or in the horoscope. You won’t find it on Oprah and most people think it sounds a little too easy. The Psalmist’s secret to overcoming depression is an active prayer life. Maybe that’s why Paul tells us to “pray continually”.

I think the reason Jesus was so successful at living the Christian life (someone once said Jesus was so successful at being a Christian that they named the whole movement after Him!), was because He was in constant fellowship with His Father. Jesus said, “I do nothing except what the Father tells me.” Nothing? That’s right...nothing! If you and I want victory in our daily living, you and I need to be in constant communion with our Heavenly Father.

I once came upon an accident where a girl had just wrecked her car. She wasn’t hurt, but her car was severely damaged. She was obviously distraught. Her first call, even before the police, was to call her father. She seemed to calm down once she heard her father’s voice. The car was still totaled, but the girl was able to face the situation, just because she had talked with “Daddy”.

There will be a peace come over us when we communicate with our Heavenly Father. Call “Daddy” often...and everything will be okay!
