I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will—Ephesians 1:5 NIV
Can I start by repeating myself from yesterday? Proverbs 25:2! I don’t fully understand predestination, but you read the verse, so it has to be true.
What does predestination mean? I have a very simple mind, so I can only explain things in a simple way. To me, predestination means that God knew in advance that you would accept His gift of salvation, so He “predestined”, or set up in advance, the papers for your adoption.
Let me explain. I have some friends who desperately tried to adopt a child. They had all the paper work filled out with the state, but something was missing, they didn’t have a child. The birth parents name, date of birth, and all the other particulars specific to their child were missing from the forms, because they didn’t know who that child would be. They knew once a child was identified, they would fill in the blanks, and adopt the child.
God exists outside of the realm of time. He has seen the beginning and the end. So, when God looked at your life, and saw the decision that you would make to accept Christ, He went ahead and filled out the adoption form. He planned ahead for your life. He “predestined” you to be adopted as His Son.
With that predestination, God could go ahead and also plan out your process of being molded into the image of Christ, just as we saw yesterday. And, as an added bonus, God could plan out the blessings He has for you in life, working around the choices He has already seen that you will make; both good and bad choices. Isn't that neat?
So, you see, predestination really is a good thing. It has to be, after all, it’s a God-thing! And, God is good, all the time!
