to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves. Ephesians 1:6 NIV
Yesterday we discussed predestination. There is probably not a more debated topic in Christian theology, but from today’s verse we can see why God did it. Predestination gives God more glory.
You see, by looking at our life outside of time, we see that God foreknew our decision to accept His Son as our Savior and thus enter a relationship with Him. The fact that God did all the work of salvation gives Him more glory!
This verse says we can praise grace, which He has given us in Jesus Christ. Grace, God’s unmerited favor, is essentially God giving us what we don’t deserve. We didn’t do anything to earn salvation, yet God sent His Son to the Cross anyway. The Bible says that while we were sinners, Christ died for us!
When God planned out your salvation, based on the faith He saw in your life, He did it through the glorious grace of His Son. That should produce praise for grace!
Thank you God for caring enough to supply us with grace! Praise your Name because of your glorious grace, given freely to us in Christ Jesus!
