I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Plead my case...Three
By: Ron Edmondson Friday, February 05, 2010
Then will I go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise You with the harp, O God, my God. Ps 43:4 NIV

The difference in trusting in God and anything else is that when your life is fully grounded in the Word of Truth, and you are walking in the Spirit of God, allowing God to direct your path, there is a peace that surpasses all understanding.

For twenty years I searched for the “perfect” career. My thoughts were “if I could just make more money” or “if I didn’t have to work weekends” or “if I could work for myself”... “everything would be better in my life.” I thought I could finally find contentment in life if the circumstances in my life improved.

You know what? I was wrong. The more I received, the more I wanted. The more my desires were met, the more desires I had. I found out that the pleasures of this earth never truly satisfy.

In the process of this discovery, I found out that the only thing which will really contend my heart is the things where my desires line up with God’s desires. In other words, His desires bring me the most joy and contentment. I must set my search on learning and obtaining His desires for my life. Jesus must have known this, because He liked to say, “Not my will, but thy will be done”.

How about a desire check? What do you want more than anything else in life? How does that desire line up with God’s will for your life? If you are not sure, maybe you should spend some time getting to know God’s desire for your life. As you sit at the feet of Jesus, and spend time in His Word, He will reveal to you the desires of His heart for you.
