I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Outside Influences, Part 1
By: Ron Edmondson Monday, March 27, 2006

As the Scriptures say, "A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one." Ephesians 5:31 NLT

The goal of marriage is for two people to become one. This doesn’t mean you lose your individuality, but it does mean that God wants to create a team that can effectively work together. I believe God wants to do some miracles within marriages today, by creating marriages that actually work to the glory of God.

The problem with creating “one flesh” is that there are distractions that will naturally get in the way. Two people can be very much in love, but the world still has a way of getting them off track in their marriage.

This series will address these distractions. In my experience, if a couple understands what could go wrong and keeps a watchful eye for potential problems, they are less likely to be caught off guard and more likely to be able to protect their marriage.

My fear in writing about potential problems in a marriage, however, is that it might open even more wounds for a hurting marriage. If your marriage is in trouble, please don’t let me make things worse. I pray God will intervene in your marriage; heal your marriage, and receive the glory due His name!

Tell your friends about this ministry. Why not forward a copy of the email to those you think might benefit from reading a Mustard Seed? Some churches use it as a supplement to their discipleship program. Perhaps your church would be interested in doing this. All I ask is that credit be given to the ministry.
