He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:7 NIV
Ever have any bad news in your life? If you have lived very long, of course you have. How do you handle bad news?
Bad news is something none of us can anticipate, and certainly not look forward to. The call that comes in the middle of the night is never the one we gratefully receive. The unexpected expense is the one that always seems to crush our budget. The routine doctors visit often changes our life forever.
Bad news comes to all of us. What we do with it will reveal what we believe about God!
The child of God has no fear of bad news. The one who knows Jesus as his Savior, who has chosen to place his life in the Master's hands, can rest secure, knowing that his life is carefully orchestrated by the tender touch of God.
My friend, if you are in the family of God, the disappointments of life should only strengthen your faith. As we face trials and tribulations, we recognize His Sovereign hand is at work. We realize our life is not our own. We have been bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus. Christ, Himself, is interceding for us on our behalf. Angels are rejoicing over our position in the Book of Life.
We move towards a deeper understanding as we face the valleys. We welcome, not the bad news, but the maker of all Good News. We invite Jesus to bear our burdens and we trust Him to deliver us from all evil!
When we choose not to fear the bad that may come in life, we have chosen to trust the Almighty God, the Ruler of Heaven and Earth!
Sounds like a pretty good trade to me!
