When Jesus saw their faith, He said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven."
Luke 5:20 NIV
It had been a busy morning witnessing in the medical clinic in Brazil. In a typical day, each of us three might share our faith a hundred times or more. I thought everyone had been talked with at the moment, so I sat down to take a break. As I was sitting there, three children came to sit next to me. Clarissa was eight. Marcos was also eight. Camellia was nine. Camellia and Marcos were brother and sister. Clarissa was there friend. They are beautiful children.
I tried to communicate with them without the help of a translator. It wasn’t easy, but I have two children of similar age, so I knew a little of their unspoken language. Camellia and Marcos kept trying to ask me something, and I thought it was about Clarissa, but I wasn’t sure what they were saying. Thankfully, a translator came over and I was able to talk with them.
I found out that Camellia and Marcos are Christians. They go to church. They faithfully read their Bibles. They knew many of the children’s Bible stories I have taught my two boys. Clarissa, on the other hand, had never heard the gospel of Christ. Camellia and Marcos had brought their friend to me so that I could tell her what Jesus had done for her on the Cross. They brought their friend to Jesus. After a simple explanation, Clarissa prayed to accept Jesus as her Savior! Praise God for Clarissa's two precious friends!
Do you have a friend you need to bring to Jesus? Is there anyone you know, that if they died right now, you are not certain of their eternal destination? I know a little eight and nine year old brother and sister who can tell you what to do. Get them to Jesus, or to someone who can explain Jesus to them, as quickly as you can! Jesus died for their sins too!
