I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Matthew 16:24, Part 1

Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Matthew 16:24 NKJV

We are going to look at this verse in detail, examining each phrase of the verse. The verse begins with three very powerful words “Then Jesus said”. Please don’t underestimate the power of those words. Until you hear from God, you haven’t heard the ultimate truth!

By the mere act of speaking, God created the Heavens and the earth. Through a voice command God will one day put an end to the reign of Satan. There is tremendous power in the voice of God.

Are you listening to the right voices in your life? Are you following after the correct advise? Can you hear God’s voice when He chooses to speak to you? We can begin to discern the voice of God when we are diligently seeking Him in His Word and through prayer. When we walk daily with the Creator we learn to recognize His voice?

Sometimes we can't hear God, because there is too much clutter in our lives to hear. We are too consumed with the things of this world and those noises drown out the voice of God. Are you free enough that God could speak to you should He try?

If you are in a dilemma today, get close to God and listen for what He has to say about the matter. Let Jesus speak truth into your life. “Then Jesus said” should be your heart’s desire in the situation.

Tell your friends about this ministry. Why not forward a copy of the email to those you think might benefit from reading a Mustard Seed? Some churches use it as a supplement to their discipleship program. Perhaps your church would be interested in doing this. All I ask is that credit be given to the ministry.
