I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Luke 11, Part 2
By: Ron Edmondson Tuesday, February 06, 2007

Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness. Luke 11:39 NKJV

Yesterday we began a look at Jesus’ mealtime with the Pharisees. They were trying to trick Him and, I suspect, Jesus was trying to test their hearts. I forgot to tell you something. Jesus is a pretty good tester. In fact, He’s perfect at the job, because Jesus doesn’t look only at what He sees on the outside. Jesus has that X-ray vision, supersonic, microscopic, snake-light type of testing. He looks deep into the heart of man. You may be able to hide your motives from other people, and actually give them the appearance that you’ve got your life figured out pretty well, but Jesus sees right through the entire pretense.

Don’t worry about what Jesus is finding when He tests your heart. I mean, you should be concerned if you don’t have a relationship with Christ (very concerned), but when Jesus looks at your heart closely He finds the same thing He finds in my heart…and every other heart. He finds dirty, rotten, lousy, death-bringing sin. He saw it in the self-righteous Pharisees and He sees it in you and me. It simply confirms that we are all helpless without Him. We are all in need of a Savior. There is none righteous…no not one!

Let God take a good look at your life (He already has anyway). He’s going to find a mess that only His blood can cleanse. Allow His perfect sacrifice to cover over all the junk of your life. That’s why He came!
