I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Kindness to Repentance, Five
By: Ron Edmondson Friday, March 17, 2006

I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them. Hosea 11:4 NIV

Do you remember Hosea? He’s the prophet God called to marry a prostitute. The prostitute was continuously unfaithful, yet Hosea was told to love her through it all. Hosea illustrates for us the way God has loved His people. Though we are sinners and we continue to fall short of the glory of God, God’s love for us remains faithful.

I am not going to pretend to have God’s system of grace completely figured out yet. I know, however, that as many times as I have failed Him, He continues to give me more grace. “Where sin increases, grace increases all the more”. (Romans 5:20)

I do believe that if we are going to reach sinners for Christ then sinners must see in us the kindness of God. We can protest, we can denounce sin, and we can boycott, but until sinners know that we like them I don’t believe they will be interested in the Gospel we have to share.

It is God’s kindness that leads to repentance.
