I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Kids by Grace, Part 1
By: Ron Edmondson Thursday, February 09, 2006
Sin is no longer your master, for you are no longer subject to the law, which enslaves you to sin. Instead, you are free by God's grace. Romans 6:14 NLT

In my ministry and personal walk with the Lord I have attempted to live by grace. That attempt in and of itself requires grace. It requires me to accept from God that which I do not deserve. I need God’s help to accept the free gift of grace. Scripture repeatedly reminds us that we are not bound by the law, but by grace. Grace living is actually a much holier lifestyle, but sometimes we feel so captive by the laws (rules) we have been given by the world.

The hardest battle for me, however, is to parent by grace, and yet I feel it is something I should do and God is calling me to do more. During this series, I want to challenge us as parents, and maybe even grandparents, to examine our child-rearing and see if we parent our children like God parents us.

How are your kids growing? Are they growing in grace? Do you even know what that means? If you are like me, you feel that you fall short so many times. I believe God has principles for us in His parenting that will help us be better parents as we raise our children in grace.

Lord, help us learn to be more like you and to treat our children as you treat us…with grace!
