I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
John 14:20, Part 4
By: Ron Edmondson Thursday, February 12, 2004
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14:20 NIV

“...and you are in me”... Okay, yesterday we talked about the trinity, but today we talk about another fascinating, yet sometimes confusing subject. We are in Christ Jesus, if we are a child of God. That phrase “In Christ” appears 89 times in the New Testament. Believers are joined eternally with God by being in Christ.

What does that mean? It means that when Jesus died, we died. It means that when Jesus rose, we rose. It means that when Jesus sits at the right hand of God, we sit at the right hand of God. It means that when Jesus returns victorious, we will return victorious. This is not because of anything we did, it is the gift of God at salvation. We become new creations, “in Christ”!

The reason Christ can constantly intercede for us to His Father is because we are in Christ...and, don’t forget, Christ is also in the Father. We are in Christ, and Christ is in His Father. Folks, that’s a whole lot of closeness!

You and I are close to God today, because we are in Christ Jesus! Praise God for this marvelous truth!

Tell your friends about this ministry. Why not forward a copy of the email to those you think might benefit from reading a Mustard Seed? Some churches use it as a supplement to their discipleship program. Perhaps your church would be interested in doing this. All I ask is that credit be given to the ministry.
