I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You
by
Steven Curtis Chapman
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14:20 NIV
Today we look at the phrase “you will realize”. Other versions may say “you shall know”. The phrase literally means “to understand correctly and completely”. It means that you have no doubts. The matter is settled, because you have fully comprehended the truth in your whole being.
How is your faith? Are you settled in the truth of God’s Word? Do you know, without a doubt in your mind, that God is God and that He is working all things for good in your life? Are you certain that if you died today you would spend eternity in Heaven because of your faith in Jesus Christ? Does the way you live reflect that understanding of God’s Truth?
Jesus didn’t want to leave His disciples with doubts. He didn’t want them to question their relationship to Him or what He was doing in their life. Jesus wants no less for you and I today. He died to give us life and to give it to us more abundantly. We can live the abundant Christian life, victorious in our journey, when we are confident in the God in which we know through His Son Jesus Christ.
If we waver in our belief or in our trust in God, the prince of this world will twist our emotions and we will appear helpless against the trials of life. Only through Christ can victory be obtained.
Do you “realize that? Is that a truth that you “know”? Do you understand correctly and completely that God is God ?
Oh, Lord, help us to live our life in the solid assurance of Your truths!
