Do you know why you shouldn’t waste your time on idols? For just that reason, idols waste your time!
It is funny to watch young children as they first develop an interest in the opposite sex. The proper procedure in expressing interest in someone is not to tell the person. It is to tell that person’s friend, who then tells that person. Direct communication doesn’t develop for several years. Imagine asking someone to marry you through a “friend”. Guys, how do you think she would have reacted?
When we place things between us and God, we are failing to go to the source. We are looking in the wrong place for the answers to life’s questions. Ultimately it is God’s will which will be done. Sure, we can make choices for ourselves right now, and they may appear good at the time, but in the end, God will have the final word!
Why not cut out all the middlemen, which God will not accept anyway, and place God in His proper position in our lives. Let’s get rid of the idols and ascribe to God the glory and honor due His name!
Lord, help us to worship You and You alone!
