I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Holiness, Part 8
By: Ron Edmondson Wednesday, January 12, 2005
The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:8 NLT

I wanted to bake some cookies. The mixing bowl I normally use was in the sink waiting to be washed. Before I could mix up the cookies, I had to wash the bowl. I couldn’t use a dirty mixing bowl. In the same sense, God cannot effectively use a dirty vessel.

God, being sovereign, can certainly work through our insufficiency to bring about His greater glory, but for His best work to be done, God needs clean instruments in which to display His grace. When you and I are growing to being more holy we will better be used by God in His Kingdom work.

Consider your life. Are you living the kind of life through which God could receive the greatest glory? Is your life a testimony of God’s wonder and grace? Does your life illustrate for the world the character and purposes of God? Can others see Jesus in you?

The greatest use God has for us will be realized as we become more holy.
