I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman

A life of moral excellence leads to knowing God better. 2 Peter 1:5b NLT

I heard a story one time of a little girl who wanted to talk with her puppy dog. In her dreams she became a puppy dog and then she was able to talk to her dog. Much in the same way, God wanted to reach out to mankind, so He became a human. Jesus, being fully God, became a man so that He could communicate with man.

You and I will never be a god. God will always be God and we will always be less than Him, but as we become more like Him in His holiness and character then we will be able to better know Him and communicate with Him.

My wife and I have enjoyed talking with each other since the first day we met. Over the years we have become more and more like each other. I’ve taken on some of her characteristics and she has taken on some of mine. We are still two different people, but are interests are now so similar that communication is so much easier for us. A lot of times we can easily complete each other’s sentences.

Our relationship with God is like this. As we grow more and more like Him we will think like Him, feel like Him and react to life more like Him. Because God is holy, we will know God better as we begin to act our personal holiness.
