I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Hired Hands
By: Ron Edmondson Tuesday, March 16, 1999
The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away becuase he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. John 10:12-13 NIV

In my business, there are some decisions that only I can make. I'll be honest, many times I would love to delegate the decision. There are tough choices to pick from, and I wish I wasn't the one who had to choose. I have some really good people to work with me, but when the bills need to be paid, I'm the one they come looking for. I think it would be hard to have someone who "just works here" to be ultimately responsible for the success of the business. There is definately something to be said for ownership!

That's why God cares so much for us. If you are a Christian, you have been bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus. His sacrifice on the cross purchased you from your sin state. You are now owned by the One who created you. God, the Father, is now the title holder to your soul.....free and clear of any debt!

The Good Shepherd looks after His flock, because it belongs to Him. It is His pride and joy; His greatest possession. When the angry wolves of the world come after His sheep, the Good Shepherd stands His ground, and fights off the enemy to its death.

Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd. You and I, the redeemed children of God, are His flock. We don't have to walk in fear today, because the Good Shepherd is watching over His sheep!

Afterall, we are all His!
