This verse is like having homemade chocolate cake, with thick gooey fudge icing, for breakfast! (and not getting in trouble with your mother!) It just don't get any better than this! (I know correct English, but don't just seemed to fit!) This verse is the best of both worlds; the blessings of God on Earth and then eternity with Him in Heaven!
God will guide you every step you will allow Him to in your life today. Jesus said if you abide in Him you can bear much fruit, but apart from Him you can do nothing. He said that if you have a small amount of faith, you can move mountains. He said He would lead you beside still waters, give you the desires of your heart, and take your thirst away forever. Jesus promised a peace beyond our understanding, a love we can't comprehend, and that He would be a friend that was closer than a brother. He said you would be cared for more than the birds in their nests or the lilies of the field, so that you need not worry. He said He was preparing a place for us, that He was sending us a Helper, the blessed Holy Spirit, and that Jesus, Himself would intercede for us with the Father!
All this.....and, as if that isn't enough....one day....oh what a blessed day that will be....when my Jesus I will see......what a day, Glorius day that will be....when He takes me by the hand....and leads me to the promised land.....what a day....Glorius day that will be! Not only is He a guide for me through these sometimes miserable days on this sometimes hard to bear planet we call Earth, but He is coming again for me...in the twinkling of an eye....when the trumpet sounds....on that white horse whose rider is called "Faithful and True"! Yes, Jesus, my Savior and friend, is coming to take me into Glory! Glory! Glory! Glory! Praise His name! My keyboard is getting HOT!!!
I don't need cake anymore......I am too excited to eat! Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Are you excited about Him today! For what else could you ask? His counsel......His glory! Praise Him for it today!
