I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Grace, then Peace
By: Ron Edmondson Friday, February 26, 1999
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:3 NIV

Paul, the writer of this letter to the Galatian church, combined the words grace and peace often in his introduction. The most interesting point to me is that the word grace always comes first. In the writings of Paul, you'll never find peace....unless it is first introduced by grace.

It's that way in life as well. If you are searching for peace, you won't find it until you first find grace!

The world is looking for peace. You see it all around you. In the commercials, the newspaper advertisements, and on some of our credit card bills. We seem to be a society that says "if I can just get this, I'll be happy", or "if I just had a few days off", or "if only this would happen". The fact is, most of us would pay anything to really find peace in life. (Some of our credit card bills will prove it!)

Dear friend, let me make this point very clear. The Bible is never more true on a subject. (And, I contend it is perfectly true on every subject!) You and I will never find peace apart from grace!

Grace, God's unmerited favor upon mankind, is God giving us something we don't really deserve. Grace is a gift. It cannot be bought or sold. It has no copywright, yet it is available only from the One who owns it all. Grace comes only from a loving Father, through His loving Son.

Grace comes only from God, the Father, and Jesus, His Son!

If you are looking for peace....look first for grace! With grace comes peace!
