Accept Christians who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. Romans 14:1 NLT
My 10 year old ask tonight if he was a role model to anyone. It was a good opportunity to explain to him what an affect he has on his little brother, and so many others younger than him.
The same holds true in the church today. Those who have matured in the faith are to be examples to those newer Christians. The more we mature, the greater the sphere of influence we have is.
I don't know how many new Christians I have seen who come to the church, well intentioned; ready to "win the world" to Christ! They are excited about their new citizenship; eager to put their faith into practice.
Then, as if it were a sin to get excited, a "mature" believer slams them in the face with ritualism, with legalistic jargon, that crushes their spirit and reduces them to a slightly "less enthusiastic" state of belief. Sound familiar?
The mature church needs to welcome the new converts into the fellowship! Sure, we need good, consistent, Biblical discipleship, but let's give them a chance to plant their roots in the faith; a chance to experience God's working in their life.
Let them have an opportunity to begin to enjoy the benefits of Christianity! Let's be good big brothers and sisters!
