“Have you not heard? Long ago I ordained it. In days of old I planned it; now I have brought it to pass...” 2 Kings 19:25 NIV
I think we often forget that God had plans for our lives long before they ever occur. When we are so busy with life and especially when the pressures of life surround us, we sometimes feel that God is unjust or unkind for allowing hard times to come our way. God’s Word is not silent, however, on the fact that we will have trials and tribulations, but God consistently reminds us, also through His Word, that He is in control, on His throne, and working all things for good.
Just as God knew there would be difficult days, God knew His grace would be sufficient to meet all our needs. What are you going through today which seems unbearable? Have you felt like you were fighting the battle alone? Perhaps you need to pause long enough to refresh your heart in God’s Word? Maybe you need a reminder of God’s sufficiency through Christ in your life?
Recently someone made this statement to me: “I’m simply not man enough to handle all the pressure in my life”, to which I proclaimed, “Great! That means you are at a point where you are willing to let God take over. He’s ready when you are!”
Dear friend, won’t you let Him take over today?
