Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. Philippians 1:12 NIV
Paul was in prison. The Jewish leaders and Roman officials were probably having a good laugh at Paul’s predicament. Paul had no freedom, according to the world. He had lost his worldly status and riches, and as far as those in charge were concerned, Paul had been silenced. God had a different plan!
Paul said his incarceration actually helped to promote the very ministry the officials were trying to stop. Paul’s imprisonment was used of God to help Paul write some of the greatest Books in all the Bible. God used Paul to communicate His love to thousands of people, even while in prison.
What are you going through today? You may not be in a physical prison, but you may in a prison of your own. Sometimes we find ourselves in the prison of doubt, the prison of fear, the prison of grief, or the prison of confusion. What does your prison look like?
Perhaps in your life, just like in Paul’s, God would desire to display His work through you! Maybe God wants to “advance the gospel” by your testimony of trust in Him. As you surrender to God’s will for your life, and learn to abide in Christ, God will bring about a great harvest of righteousness in your life. His glory will be revealed through you!
I must admit. God’s glory is going to look great on you!
