I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Get Well, Part 1
By: Ron Edmondson Monday, January 02, 2006
Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for a feast of the Jews. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie...the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. John 5:1-5 (NIV)

Imagine being paralyzed for thirty-eight years. Some of you can. I have readers who are blind, and have these read to them by a friend. I have readers confined to a bed or who are paraplegic. Others of you though have been “paralyzed” by something other than a physical handicap. You have suffered with depression for years. You have had the paralyzing impact of a broken relationship that has haunted you for longer than you can remember.

Some of you have been plagued by your financial reversal. You can never seem to get ahead in life. Others have been held back by a personal failure, which has wounded relationships and haunts you everyday. Even though you are physically healthy, you are emotionally or socially paralyzed. I personally know the feeling.

During this series I want to ask you to think deep into your circumstances. Some of them can be changed. Some of them cannot. Some of them you have control over. Others you do not. Let me ask you this; what would life be like without the handicap? What if the pain were gone? If God chose to do a miracle in your life in 2006, how different would your life be? Begin talking with God about the greatest desires of your heart. I believe there is a God in Heaven who still listens and every now and then, as He wills to do so, God still works miracles in people’s lives. I’m praying for some in my life. Are you?
