I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

When He had finished praying, Jesus left with His disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was an olive grove, and He and His disciples went into it. Now Judas, who betrayed Him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with His disciples. So Judas came to the grove, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons. Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to Him, went out and asked them, "Who is it you want?" John 18:1-4 NIV
When I think of Jesus and His disciples, just before His arrest and crucifixion, it is nice to know they had this special time together in the Garden. Having given up much of their incomes and following Jesus for three years of ministry, the Garden was probably like home to them. It was the place of comfort, the place to relax.
Do you like to be at home? We have one son who loves home time more than being just about any place. Most of the time he would rather have a cold sandwich than be treated to a steak dinner where he has to go outside the home. Is your home a comfortable place; a place of rest? I know that many today live in places that don’t always feel like a home. There are relationship strains and financial stresses that keep our house from really feeling comfortable. I know the feeling.
Jesus and the disciples probably knew the feeling too! In this story they were in the Garden of Gethsemane, a place they had often been to relax, pray and have fun together, and the hardest part of their time with the Lord took place. Jesus was arrested and taken from them. The garden would never be quite the same again.
As wonderful as home can be, isn’t that also where the deepest struggles of our life occur. We can worry about the economy, about war, about International hunger, but when a trial comes inside the home, you are really impacted the most, aren’t you? In any given week we can stress about lots of things, but if it involes someone in our own home, that's the biggest stress.
If your world is being torn apart by issues impacting your home, whether it is a relationship problem, a health or financial situation, or loneliness or depression, I want you to know today that God cares. He cared for Jesus and the disciples in the Garden, and He’ll do the same for you. Won’t you call on Him today? Your home can be healed if you will simply trust in Him.
