I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.
I Am Found In You

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25
The challenge presented to us by reading the fruit of the Spirit is to live it everyday. Christ did, and if we are to have the “mind of Christ”, as He has called us to do, then we must exhibit His fruit. The consolation is that the fruit of the Spirit is available to us. We have within us everything we need to live according to His will for our lives. We received this fruit at the time of our salvation.
Once we were saved, our lives, the Bible tells us, was hidden with Christ. That means we are no longer on our own, trying to face the world alone. We have a Savior who didn’t come just for eternity, but for everyday living. He wants to give us power to live a Godly life, and that strength is found only in Christ.
I remember when my son was real young. He and I would walk to a park near our home. About half way there he would usually say “Daddy, slow down, I can’t keep up with your steps.” My legs being twice as long as his, he couldn’t take steps as long as I could. He couldn’t keep up unless I slowed down.
Dear friend, the work of God is being done today. All around you God’s Holy Spirit is at work, accomplishing the things He has planned in advance to be done. If you and I want to be a part of His plan, we need to catch up. He isn’t going to wait on us. The difference in this and the illustration with my son is that we can catch up! God has equipped us with His fruit so that we can play our part in His Kingdom work.
Are you keeping step with the Spirit of God, or are you falling behind? If so, ask God for forgiveness for not living the life He wants you to live, then ask Him to allow you to catch up. Then stay in step with the Spirit of the Living God.
