You came near when I called you, and you said, "Do not fear." Lamentations 3:57 NIV
I have a friend who is going through a very difficult time of fear. He is uncertain in his work and the financial stress is putting strain on his marriage. Fear is beginning to cripple his life. He wants to walk by faith, but right now, he’s merely holding on to threads of his faith. Ever been there?
Sometimes God allows us to walk through uncertain times. We call to Him and He says, "Do not fear." Often I want to say, “Okay, God, tell me what is going to happen next, and I won't be afraid" or "Give me your plan and I'll trust you." If God would just show me how it all works out in the end I’d be able to sleep better at night. But all I hear from God is, "Do not fear."
“Do not fear!” because the One who set the stars in place is on your side. “Do not fear!” because the Author of the Creation story is holding your hand. “Do not fear!” because the One they call El Shaddai is working all things out for your good. “Do not fear!” because He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it. “Do not fear!” because the Great I Am is still on the throne. “Do not fear!” because you are a child of God Almighty! “Do not fear!” because your eternity is secure in Heaven.
Every promise that God provides for His children through the pages of His Word are included when God says to us “Do not fear!” Are you afraid today? Looking for answers to a problem in life? Worried about something?
Call upon the name of the Lord and listen for His reply: "DO NOT FEAR!"
