He is the head of the body, which is the church. Everything comes from Him. He is the first one who was raised from the dead. So in all things Jesus has first place. Colossians 1:18 NCV
Jesus sets the trend. Being the first one to be eternally raised from the dead gives Him prestige! Oh, I know, others were raised from the dead, but only to face physical death again someday. When Jesus rose from the grave, it was once and for all!
Jesus started a practice of eternal living apart from an earthly body. He was the first to walk among the Earth, eating, sleeping, talking, praying, face a physical death, and then raise to newness of life in foreverland. Jesus received His glorious body which can never be taken away.
That makes Jesus pretty special! You see, you and I can now face our physical death without fear. We can follow in the path of Jesus, receiving eternal life at the time of our earthly departure. We can one day, like the Trendsetter, receive our glorious bodies, enter into our Father's presence, and spend forevermore basking on the riches of Heaven.
Jesus has started a trend! From that point on the rest is up to you and me! Follow the leader today! Accept Jesus as your Savior if you never have!
Follow the One in first place! He'll share the prize with you! And Daddy will give you a trophy!
