I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Finishing Well, Part 4
By: Ron Edmondson Thursday, February 17, 2005
And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again. Philippians 1:6 NLT

You may not feel that you are growing spiritually right now, but the fact is you are on some path. Either you are growing spiritually or God is working the circumstances in your life so that you can if you choose to grow. God is intimately more concerned about your spiritual growth than you are.

When you were saved, (I hope you have called upon the Name of the Lord and accepted salvation by faith, believing that Jesus was raised from the dead and has paid the price for your sin) God put you on a path towards righteousness. Actually God purified your spirit, making your spirit holy like Christ’s spirit. Your soul or character, however, continues to struggle with sin. (I didn’t have to tell you that, did I?)

The good news is that God has given up on what He wants to accomplish in your life and He is working all things towards an ultimate good. He has you “under construction” and the final product for your character is the character of Christ. He wants you there now, but He’s not going to force you to work against your will, so He’s patient with you. In the meantime, God is loving you and bringing people and circumstances into your life to encourage you towards spiritual growth.

Today, look for the activity of God that will prompt you towards being more like Christ!
