because you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. Philippians 1:5 NLT
The Philippians got saved and never got over it. They continued serving God well after the initial decision for Christ. Their faithfulness encouraged Paul.
The Christian life is a process of growth. I’ve only known a few people who were so radically changed at salvation that they never again fell into outward, visible sins. Most of us are saved and then we begin a spiritual journey that lasts a lifetime. Along the way there are periods of slow growth or no growth. The goal, however, should be that the general direction of our life is headed toward Christ-likeness.
Examine the span of your life again. Would you say you are more like Christ today than you were five years ago? Are you closer to Christ than you were last year this time? Is the pattern of your life one of consistency?
The Philippians never gave up on spiritual growth. Have you?
