I may not see in front of me, But I can see for miles around when I look over my shoulder, and Lord, it`s clear. You`ve brought me here, So faithful every step of the way. What can I do but follow you, For You are the Way, the Truth, the Life, And You`ve promised never to leave me, My Savior, my friend, From beginning to end.

I Am Found In You by Steven Curtis Chapman
Finishing Well, Part 1
By: Ron Edmondson Monday, February 14, 2005
Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Philippians 1:3 NLT

Today I begin a series called “Finishing Well”. As I read through the Book of Philippians, I see the desire of a man, Paul, who wanted to finish well, but also wanted to encourage others in their spiritual journey. During this series we will apply the passion of Paul to our own life, finding encouragement for us to finish well.

Paul looked at the life of the Philippians and was filled with joy. Their obedience and faithfulness encouraged him in his own faith and caused him to be thankful. Consider your life. Does your life cause others to rejoice? Can someone look at the life you live and give thanks to God? Are you setting an example for others to follow of Christ-like living? Are you loving others? Are you learning to be a person of peace and patience? Are you worrying less? Are you trusting more?

In order to finish well in life you and I will have to be on the right path in life. You can’t finish what you haven’t started. Today, as we begin this series, will you look into your own heart and allow God to examine you fully? Are you saved? Do you have a sincere desire to follow Christ? Do you genuinely want to finish well?

Lord, help us to be found faithful!
