Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a sleeping mat. They tried to push through the crowd to Jesus, Luke 5:18 NLT
You and I need to know that real, honest, Godly fellowship reaches to the real point of need in another person’s life. This paralytic man didn’t need to be added to the prayer list. As nice as prayer lists are, sometimes we excuse ourselves from actually helping someone with the fact that we are praying for them. This man needed help! This man needed Jesus! The question wasn’t who was going to pray for him, but who was going to get him to Jesus!
What can you do today, right now, to really meet a need; to really help someone who needs help? Praying for them is wonderful and you should do this, but what can you do to meet a real need, as a representation of your relationship to Christ. Can you help someone monetarily? Can you keep the children of a single mother, so she can have a night of rest (maybe even sanity)? Can you sit and talk with an elderly person? What can you do in a practical, tangible way to touch someone for Jesus Christ?
Pray about it and when God leads, my best advice is to do it then!
